September Letter from the Principal

Greetings Mariners,

It is a true privilege and honor to join the Marina High School Family as your new principal.  I have worked in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District for over 18 years in many capacities and most of that time was spent working with the Marina community.  Marina High School offers a unique high school experience and I look forward to working with the school staff, students, parents, and community members to provide an Early College and Career education through a school climate that is accepting, caring, and safe.  I look forward to working with you to enhance what you have already created.

In an attempt to get to know as many parents and community members as possible, I will be hosting Pastries with the Principal on the first Tuesday of the month.  Our first meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 6th starting at 8:00 a.m. in The Cove.  Our time together will be spent as a question and answer session and the agenda will be driven by attendees.

September is Attendance Awareness month.  Getting your student to school  everyday is imperative to your student’s academic and social/emotional success.  Research proves that student achievement increases with daily attendance.  Please read this short pamphlet on how to support your student by attending school on a regular basis.

Staying involved is key to your student’s success.  MaHS offers many volunteer opportunities.  If you have a special talent that you would like to share with our school community please contact the office at 831.583.2060.

Looking forward to an amazing year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
