What is JROTC?

The Marina High School JROTC program orientated around improving citizenship skills: respect for authority, self-discipline, personal responsibility, leadership and team work. JROTC is an excellent vehicle for practical application of leadership and citizenship for high school students. Cadets (we refer to our students as cadets) pride themselves in setting high standards of behavior.

Physical fitness is stressed as a way of life and the instructional objective is to motivate young people to be better citizens.

JROTC is a strictly voluntary class, and it imposes no military service obligation. It has been developed out of a historical background of over 90 years in high schools across the United States . The Marina High JROTC program, which takes place at Seaside High school, started in 2007.
